Woodrue's leisurely approach gave Swamp Thing enough time to regrow his vital structures, break out and attack Avery and Jason. Rather than intertwine Woodrue's transformation into Swamp Thing's existential crisis, this episode turns Woodrue into a more believable villain and Abby a subversive savior. The fact that Abby saved Swamp Thing adds to the growing love story and turns Swamp Thing into a distressed victim. Woodrue's gradual transformation into the Floronic Man isn't the only aspect of the story the episode changes. ![]()
